Johanna. B. Gunter Stem Cell Training Laboratory Renovation

In March 2016, the Johanna. B. Gunter Stem Cell Training Laboratory was renovated to create a 12-person training and research facility.

An internal wall running through the center of the facility was removed to create a functional storage room. A former gowning room was converted into a preparation and research laboratory for Pathways to Stem Cell Science’s team. New air-conditioning and electrical upgrades were installed throughout the laboratory to accommodate large equipment. To complete the renovation, the floors were sealed and finished with an industrial expoxy coating.

Following structural renovations, the facility was outfitted with specialized equipment for deriving, culturing, manipulating and analyzing human stem cells. Before and after pictures of the renovation process are shown below.
