As part of their commitment to help support and train future generations of stem cell scientists, BI-USA has partnered with  Pathways to Stem Cell Science to create the "Biological Industries Culture of Excellence EiHS Research Scholarship" program. These scholarships, which are awarded annually enable underserved students from low income and ethnic minority backgrounds to attend the EiHS Stem Cell Academy Program.

In collaboration with Caltech, Pathways to Stem Cell Science operates a CIRM funded hands-on reserch program for underserved and disadvantaged high school students. The EiHS CIRM Summer Program to Accelerate Regenerative Medicine Knowledge (SPARK) enables six students to participate in stem cell research at Caltech, supported by a CIRM funded tuition scholarship. The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) was created by Californian's in 2004 by the passing of Proposition 71. It's mission is to fund stem cell research throughout California with the goal of accelerating treatments to patients with unmet medical needs. To ensure a pipeline of well trained and talented stem cell scientists, CIRM has also invested heavily in education and training programs like EiHS CIRM SPARK.
