Introduction

Pathway’s community lab enables students aged 15-18 to pursue their own research interests

The community lab at Pathways to Stem Cell Science provides professionally equipped facilities, laboratory reagents and technical support for STEM enthusiasts who are interested in pursuing their own research projects.

Monthly Fee*:  $300

 

Lab Hours:  Monday to Friday, 9.00am-6.30pm

 

Open: January – May and September – December**

 

Eligibility: Students must be 15 years or older and have a viable research project. All projects must be reviewed and approved by the facility director before lab access is granted. Project proposals can be submitted for review using the application form below.

 

Students are required to complete a 2-day cell culture and biosafety training workshop if their project involves human cells. Workshop fee = $350. Exemptions may apply to students who have recently attended a summer program at our organization.

 

*Monthly fee includes access to molecular biology and cell culture labs, communal equipment, standard reagents and assistance troubleshooting technical problems. Lab users are responsible for purchasing project specific supplies.

 

**The community lab is closed through the summer months of June, July and August.
